I started wrestling when I was in 6th grade. From that point on I fell in love with the sport and won AAU state. I stopped in 8th grade so that I could focus on football but it always felt like I was missing something in my life. My high school coach, Coach Price, convinced me to come out and wrestle for him my freshman year because he needed a 106. At that point I realized what had been missing in my life; it was wrestling. I was only able to make it to sectionals my freshman year, but I worked hard in the off-season and went 2-2 at state my sophomore year. As a junior, I was named a captain and went 55-12 for the season wrestling at 132, 126, and then 120. I went 2-2 again at state finishing top 8. As a senior I was a captain again, wrestling at 132, 138, and 144 during the season, wherever the team needed me to be. I placed first at Regions and Sections, and state qualifier again at 138. For the season I was 54-9 with 30 pins and 12 TF.
All of this is really just to say that I love wrestling and I'm a really hard worker and it is my goal to continue my journey in college.
I have created a YouTube channel to upload my wrestling videos. Please follow at Nicholas.Collins138. This is also my Instagram handle.
