DeVaughn Scott '15 Recruiting Profile

My wrestling career started when I was in the 7th grade.  I became good at the sport in 8th grade and had a winning record.  I don't quite remember my freshman year but my sophomore year I went 14-7 before I transferred to Texas.  By this time I was a junior and I won districts and regionals and went to the UIL state tournament at the wieight class of 195.  I didn't place at state but that didn't stop me, I went on to wrestle in the summer where I won freestyle and greco state at the 220 weight class.  I then went on to wrestle at junior duals nationals and my senior year just recently ended with a record of 40-3 with 32 wins by pin 7 wins by decision and 1 win by major decision, I became a two time regional and district champion then placed third at state after a tough loss against the returning state runner up where I lost 7-6 in the semi's only to work my way up to third.  Although I didn't place 1st as intended I am going to continue my work ethic as there are more things to come.
