I have learned that through discipline and hard work, you can accomplish anything. I was born weighing 1 lb and 10 oz, but through prayer, my family's encouragement and wrestling, I have been able to excel far beyond everyone's expectations. I am a Christian, and keep God at the center of my daily life and my decisions. Wrestling is in my family, my father was a very successful wrestler in Oregon (2 time state champion), however he never pushed me to compete. He let me learn the skills and said, when you are ready to compete, let me know. Now is my time! I am strong and determined and fight with the heart of a lion. I love wrestling. I love the feeling of being on the mat, hearing the crowd cheer you on, and the feeling when they raise your arm at the end of the match.
In 2016, I had to take the season off, as I was diagnosed with Kidney failure. My doctor cleared me to continue wrestling in the 2017 season and I am currently competing in two sports, both wrestling and football. Our coaches have strength and conditioning every morning during the summer and before school during the school season, we have work outs during our final class period, and the wrestling practices are after school.
My passion in life is to work with children in the medical field. I would love to find an opportunity to be able to earn my degree, while continuing to pursue the sport I love.
