My name is Daniel Leal, I am wrestler at Veterans Memorial High School as well as an avid Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner. In my Freshmen year I wrestled at 106 lbs and accumulated a record of 30-13 in my first year of wrestling. In my sophomore year I earned a 25-4 record going undefeated at 113 and with my only losses being to returning state qualifiers at 120 lbs. My junior year I amassed a record of 42-7 with 30 of those coming by fall, I won a district championship, placed 3rd at the regional tournament, and placed 4th at the State tournament. In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu I was ranked Number 1 in the state of Alabama, Number 1 in the Southeast region, and and top 50 in the country out of all teenagers. I believe that it's how hard you work when no one is watching that counts and because of that I always work as hard as I can anytime I train or study.
