I started wrestling at age 5, and was actually born into wrestling. My father and brother both wrestled. My grandfather is a coach. Each year I improved both physically and mentally, while also developing an appreciation for the benefits I was getting on and off the mat.
I have been blessed to be part of a championship club and high school program that has made me realize that wrestling isn't just about your endurance and talent but also your mindset. You have to be mentally strong. The sense of team and family is another thing I truly love about this sport. These teammates depend on each other for drilling, motivating, and challenging one another. You won't find another sport that has a sense of family and commitment. My goal is to walk off that mat knowing I did the very best I could for myself, my coach, and my team.
My main goals in college are to receive my degree and be part of a wrestling family that will help me continue to grow in wrestling. I also enjoy being part of the National Honor Society, active in my church, and do weight lifting, which really helps me improve my wrestling. Each day I challenge myself to become a better student athlete.
