JUCO Golf Programs

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) governs all junior college athletic programs. Many student-athletes who decided to pursue college golf later in their high school career, or who want to improve their scores and grades before transferring to a four-year institution, find JUCO golf to be the perfect opportunity. And with the most athletic scholarships offered at this level, it could help alleviate the burden of college costs. 

How many NJCAA men’s golf teams are there? 

There are three divisions in NJCAA golf—Division 1, Division 2 and Division 3—with a total of 186 schools. Junior college offers student-athletes a chance to live near home while earning college credit, focus on academics and improve their golf score average before attending a four-year university. Furthermore, at this level, coaches can award a maximum of eight athletic scholarships per team. With the average NJCAA golf team being seven players, there’s a good chance at receiving financial aid.
