Ethan Hotz '24 Recruiting Profile

Thank you for taking the time to read about me.  I have been playing baseball for as long as I can remember.  When I was younger, I would get up on days I didn't have a game and get fully dressed, go outside and play a game by myself.  I would imagine there was a whole team and play each position.  Baseball has given the chance to meet some of my best friends and the best coaches who have taught me so much about baseball and life.  My goal is to continue to improve both academically and athletically throughout high school to prepare me for playing baseball at the college level with a long term goal of playing in the big leagues.

 08/21/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Ethan is a tall, lean, and athletic RHP/OF who will graduate in 2024. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. In the OF, he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness (6.93  60 time) in covering a lot of ground. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 75-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Slider has tight spin and resembles breaking ball. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Ethan has potential with time and room to progress his game.
