Personal Statement
Hello- My name is Marcus Locklear; I am currently going to be a junior at Hoover High School in Hoover AL. I was born on September 2, 2003 in Lumberton, NC. I am currently 6'0" and 160. I am a right-hand hitter and right-handed thrower. My primary position is anywhere in the outfield and my secondary position is being a pitcher. In my own words plain and simple, I am a ball player I love the game of baseball. Since the age of seven I have played the game. I respect the game and all the people I have played with. I have had the opportunity to learn the game from many great coaches. I know without them I would not be the player that I am today. When I am not playing baseball or not in school I enjoy working out and playing basketball. School and baseball take up most of my time. I try to lift every day a week with some fellow teammates from my high school team in the off season. Over the winter months I do speed and agility training.
I have many qualities to bring to any team, I am a team player and get along well with fellow teammates and coaches. I follow directions, I am ready for anything at any time, I have a positive attitude and encourage others.
As far as my most important accomplishments, I had the opportunity to pitch in a varsity baseball game when I was a freshman in high school. I hit 5th in the lineup. In conclusion, I would like to assure all the college coaches interested in me that I am a hard worker. I try to be a better student, baseball player, leader, and person every day.
I am looking forward to finding a school that will allow me to have a well-rounded college experience consisting of a great education and to follow my lifelong dream of playing baseball at the college level.
