Hello- My name is Harrison Metz; I just finished my senior year and attend Homer High School in Homer, Alaska. I was born on September 17, 2002 in Alton, Illinois. I am currently 5’ 8" and 165 LBS. I am a right hand hitter and right handed thrower. My primary position is middle infield and pitcher but I have played every position as a utility player. In my own words plain and simple, I am a ball player I love the game of baseball. Since the age of 10 I have played the game. I respect the game and all the people I have played with. I have had the opportunity to learn the game from many great coaches. I know without them I wouldn't be the player that I am today. There is always more to learn. When I am not playing baseball or not in school I enjoy working out and drawing. I also enjoy hiking, snowboarding, hanging out on the beach and really anything that gets me out in the beautiful Alaska outdoors. School and baseball take up most of my time. I aim to weight lift five times a week in the off season. Over the winter months I set goals for myself by training in speed and agility, field work and batting practice. My parents tell me to take it easy for at least one day a week, so if there are no games on Sunday I try to do something with my family. My parents are very positive people that have always supported me in baseball that's one of the reasons I love playing so much. When it comes to college I would like to major in Computer Science. As far as my most important accomplishments I have played varsity high school baseball and AA American Legion baseball since I was a freshman in high school. My freshman year I started every game at 2nd base or outfield at the varsity level. I hit anywhere from 1st to 4th in the lineup. At first it was hard playing with players 4 years older than me, but within no time I was part of the team I also think that experience will help me in college. In conclusion I would like to assure all of the college coaches interested in me that I'm a hard worker, dedicated, team player, motivated and committed. I try to be a better student, baseball player and person every day. On the field I communicate clearly and off of the field I would say I am a little quieter than most. Coaches usually tell me that I am very coachable and always open to listening to advice.
Respectfully Submitted Harrison M. Metz
