I have played baseball since I was five beginning with t-ball. At ten years old I played club ball for three years. With all this experience in 7th grade I was cut from the team because I did not work hard in tryouts. This happened because I was overconfident with my abilities. This changed my personal view of myself and motivated me to work hard. I went to baseball camps and took private lessons. It paid off. In 8th grade I made the team as a starter. Now in high school, I continue to be a started and as a junior I received an All-Region Honorable Mention Award.
Now in high school I am also giving back by volunteering with little league baseball teams. I want to encourage these young athletes while sharing the same passion for the sport. I demonstrate the correct techniques and skills needs to be a baseball player building their confidence while developing my leadership skills so I can pass on what I have learned.
All these experiences have helped me develop my personal skills and leadership abilities. I am determined to pursue baseball further in the future and look forward to bringing this knowledge with me to a college baseball team to help them be successful.
