Hello, my name is Jack Ruegge. I was a senior year at Gilbert High School. This past baseball season (2015) I was the starting Right Fielder, in the starting pitcher rotation (5-2 in 5GS), and lead off batter (0.310BA). I was ranked 11th in ERA in State Division 1 leaderboards with 1.71. I am excited to be playing in the Div 1 State AllStar Game on May 31st. My major goal is to refine my skills further and be a leader at the collegiate level in both baseball and academics. I hope to major in Sports Management and put my academic skills together with my passion for sports and especially baseball.
Some of the intangibles I bring to a team are a great work ethic, positive attitude and "never quit" philosophy. I have strived as a student athlete to make the best of all situations; in the classroom and on the ball field. I have a great relationship with my fellow athletes as well as with the entire coaching staff. They know me as a leader and a dedicated hard worker.
As a pitcher, I am a pitch to contact player that has great command of my offspeeds: curve and circle change. They tend to make teams roll over or pop up. I have had great success with my pitch placement and sequence. I am able to contribute in more than one position; any outfield position and pitcher. In my high school career, I have played both of these positions at the varsity and club (AZ Wildfire) level.
I am interested in continuing my education and exploring other careers that will fit my skills, interests and goals. I'm also driven to contributing to a solid baseball program at the collegiate level. I'm willing to give 110% to both my academic and athletic goals. Thank you for your interest.
