  • Andrew Pickering #802 2021 60 Time: 7.16 Arm Velo: 79-81 mph Top Exit Velo: 89 mph Hitting: LHH- Good hand eye coordination. Strong. Good barrel control and does a good job of keeping head still throughout swing. Quick bat. Should consider focusing on attacking the inside of balls. By always attacking the inside of the ball instead of hooking around them, he should be able to truly drive balls into all parts of field due to his strength and allow his speed to help him get many extra base hits. Remember to stay loose and also keep your barrel in the zone as long as possible for maximum extension. Tended to pull off ball a bit with front foot which caused him to hook around several that he really could have driven. Did a good job of staying in his legs throughout swing. Overall a good hitter. Need to follow. Fielding: Good overall body control and approach to ball. Head control at catch was good. Arm strength was good and throws were accurate with good carry. Good backspin on ball. Foot work was sound and stayed behind ball well. Worked thru ball well. Crowhop could speed up a bit but overall sound. Overall good steady defender.

Started in open stance, had a wrapping load and used a leg kick Had rapid bat speed, as well as an upward swing plane and good extension on his finish with pull side power, . Displayed a line drive approach in his path, using the middle of the field. In the outfield, his best throw of the day was clocked at 86 mph;had rhythmic feet and a fluid exchange. Showing very consistent accuracy to the bases, he used a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot. He recorded a 60 time of 7.11 at the event.

  • Camp/Event
  • Basaeball Factory Christmas Camp
  • 12/20/18 to 12/23/18
  • Andrew is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. In the field, Andrew takes a good first step and is aggressive attacking the ball. He fields in a square position and makes a clean exchange. He gains momentum well on his throws and gets good carry through his target. Increasing his lateral range can help Andrew improve defensively. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He is controlled getting his hands activated and remains centered with his lower half. He flashes strong barrel control and rotates his core well, leading to solid pop to the opposite field. Andrew can improve as a hitter by taking a more level swing path. On the mound, Andrew starts with a simple rock step and works with a loose arm. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph. Breaking ball sits at 61mph with solid movement. Splitter sits at 69mph. Extending through his release more can help Andrew improve as a pitcher. Overall, Andrew is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
