Jacob Helmuth '23 Recruiting Profile

I would love to play baseball in college.  The ultimate collegiate goal is to attend a 4 year university and receive a  Bachelor’s Degree in engineering while a member of the school’s baseball team.  I’m a good student as my parents have always stressed the phrase student-athlete.  Grades/schoolwork always come first.  I’m a hard worker both in and out of the classroom.  I always try to make sure to pay attention to the little details both on and off the field.  I’m a big car guy and I always compare baseball to a car’s engine (and also on of the main reasons I’m drawn to the engineering field).  There are a lot of moving parts that make a quality engine run some small, some large, and some more powerful than the others but a good engine only works when all pieces are working together.  If not it doesn’t run its best performance or doesn’t run at all.  The same is true for a baseball team.  Every player can contribute to a team’s overall success no matter size or strength.
