I'm John Arnold and I currently play on the varsity baseball team at St. Anthony HS in Long Beach as the starting 2B and I also play SS. I am enrolled in honors/AP classes.
In my freshman year, I was the starting shortstop and leadoff hitter on the JV team and earned MVP honors, hitting .325 and leading the team in runs, hits and stolen bases. I also started six games on the varsity and played in five others, hitting .500. Also, I was the starting small forward on the freshman basketball team in Division 1 in Southern California. I batted .400 (18-45) in summer HS ball after my freshman year and was the starting second baseman on the varsity as a sophomore, starting 19 of the 20 games that I was healthy for. I anticipate starting at 2B or SS as a junior and pitching significant innings. I have had a GPA of at least 4.0 every semester, and have a cumulative 4.19 GPA.
I have played baseball for eight years, was a competitive swimmer for four years and have also practiced martial arts. I am interested in attending a strong academic four-year university and playing baseball there.
I play travel ball on the Tomateros (TC Baseball 2025) and Long Beach Undefeated teams and play in Perfect Game and Five Tool tournaments through the summer and also play summer varsity HS ball. I enjoy math and english but am undecided on what I want to concentrate on in my college studies. I have several dogs so I've considered becoming a veterinarian, but I also like constructing things so I've also considered engineering. Whatever I study, I plan to excel in my studies and also on the baseball field. I enjoy travel and have visited several countries and I'm open to attending college out of state.
