Austin Webster '21 Recruiting Profile

Dedication, hard work and determination is how I approach all aspects of my life, whether it be academics and/or athletics.  Whether I am on the field or off, I take a lot of pride in my work. Maintaining my high GPA throughout my high school career is very important to me.  This also allows me to reach my fullest potential on the field, where I can be a positive example as a team leader and help my fellow team players.  

I started playing baseball at the age of 3 years old with our local little league program.  I would play wherever the coach would put me. As I grew up, I realized that being left-handed my spots were limited to where I could play.  I knew I had to focus on either outfield, 1st base, or pitching.  I began to focus my development on 1st base and pitching.  I do occasionally play outfield for my high school team, but will always love playing first.  Defense wasn’t my only focus, I quickly realized that I love hitting the baseball. My goal every year is to be able to see the pitches better and anticipate which one is coming next.  My true love of the game is hitting.

I take a lot of pride in being part of a team (sometimes being the team leader).  Winning is a result of a team working and playing together as a single unit. Given the opportunity to continue achieve my goals in both on and off the field, would be an amazing experiment.
