My name is Stephen Polizzi, I currently am a Senior at Fairfield Prep in Fairfield, CT. My primary position is catcher, my secondary is OF, and I also play 1B. I started playing ball when I was 5. Baseball has been more than simply a sport; it has taught me to respect others and to build confidence in myself. Baseball has also taught me to build relationships with my coaches and teammates, these skills help make me a better person. As a catcher, I am always at home plate. Playing this position, I am the one that sees the whole field, and I am in charge of reading and reacting to every situation. Therefore, I must not only earn the trust of the pitcher but also the trust of every teammate looking to me for guidance. Baseball epitomizes leadership and teamwork working together. I envision my college years to be even more of a personal growth period. My goal is to explore a sports management major that will position me well beyond baseball. On the field, I plan to be a dynamic player and positive influence on the team. As I grow both physically and mentally throughout my college baseball career, I will strive to be a leader to the team. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the field, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my team, my coaches and the school I attend.”
