I’ll handle this statement as I would a track meet: I’ll keep it short, quick, and effective.
My goal for any day in the future is to be better than I was the day, month, and year before. Whether it’d be physically or mentally, I must commit actions and think thoughts that reflect a positive outcome. Regardless of what I desire to achieve, I will make sure that I will be the best at what I do.
When I put my mind to something, I will not stop until I accomplish the goal I set my mind towards. This reflects passion, and in terms of Track and Field, passion can make or break your performance in minutes to milliseconds.
I understand my academics may not be as up to par as other upcoming Track & Field stars, and I understand that I have no one else to blame. I‘ve made careless and negligent choices which have led me to this point. However, I have also made virtuous choices which have led me to be as good as I am in this sport. This is something I have always wanted to achieve, and it’s because of those choices I have no regrets. Simply put, there is no point in dwelling in the past. It cannot be changed nor can it be altered. What we can do, however, is change and alter the future, and that is what I WILL strive to do in both my athletic career as well as my academics. Not only that, but I will help my teammates do the same. It took me a long time to realize this, but I now know that I am not alone in this race of life. I must push my colleagues up, wether friend or foe, the same way I would do myself, and that will help both me and them not only succeed, but excel.
