I aspire to be a division three baseball player at a college that is athletically and academically competitive. I aspire to be the leader of a college both on and off the field.
I am a multi-sport athlete who is the captain of the baseball team (I also play football), and still keep a 2.95 GPA.
My dedication to baseball is different than most other players. I have made big sacrifices to play baseball at a competitive level. When I was 9 years old I tried out for and made the highest level travel baseball team in my town. But, the time commitment meant I couldn’t spend every other weekend at my dad’s house. Instead of supporting me, my father gave me an ultimatum. He told me I could either continue to see him (he lived out of state) or I could play baseball and I chose baseball. I have not seen my dad since then, but to this day I still strongly believe that I made the correct decision.
As a catcher, I take the role as the leader of defense very seriously. I take charge on the field, but I also lead by example off the field. I often volunteer for charity work in my town and I work with kids, both in sports and in my religious community.
