Before every race, I remind myself it’s time to grind. Hard work is something I bring into every aspect of my life...schoolwork, friendships, and of course track. I strive to lead by example and to motivate my teammates to achieve their very best. One of my favorite races last year was not a PR or important victory but rather when I paced two of my teammates to qualify for the conference championship in the 800m. My coaches describe me as a versatile runner as I’ve had success in sprints, mid-distance, and distance races. I qualified for and competed in Junior Olympic National Championships in cross country, in the 4x100m relay, 800m, and the 1500m, as well as in New Balance Nationals Indoor 400m. I am fascinated by running mechanics and the importance of good nutrition and active recovery. By focusing on these things, I always try to remain one step ahead of my competition. I've been called a happy runner who is always smiling. I truly love to run and it shows.
