Owen Widger '27 Recruiting Profile

I desire to play competitive baseball at the highest level and want to contribute to a winning program. I believe I possess a high baseball IQ for my age but know I have more to learn. My top tool is my ability to really swing the bat. I can hit to all fields and often for extra bases. I bring excellent power to the middle of a lineup and can help a team by driving in runs.

I’ve spent the last 3 years eating healthier and doing gym work to become a stronger and faster athlete. My baseball training regimen has also increased, and I now take swings nearly every day. Right now, my focus is to continue working on my athleticism and to play well at tournaments.

Since my freshman year I've steadily improved my academics and am looking forward to having expanded learning opportunities with my change in graduation year from 2026 to 2027. Having 2 more years of preparatory school also puts me at a more appropriate level for my age and allows me more time to strengthen my body and my skills.
