I am a team guy and I strive to be the best teammate I can be at all times. I own up to my mistakes and don't really make excuses. I try to play ball and live life this way. Baseball has taught me how to overcome adversity, and stay calm under pressure. Because there was no Freshman Baseball Team at Palisades HS, I had to compete to make the JV Team and beat out some older kids for positions. This was when I really started learning the value of putting in extra time to hone my skills and develop as a player. Last season as a Sophomore, my "reliability and work ethic" was rewarded with the starting Varsity SS position. I am lucky to have Coach Voelkel as my head coach and try to learn as much as I can from him- he's a great mentor. Thanks to Wrestling, Football, and Surfing- I have always felt gifted in my athleticism, which has spilled over to baseball. Defensively, on the field I have always been confident in my range, quick hands, and agility. Offensively, I switch hit- which gives me the ability to disrupt pitchers and be more versatile for my team in certain situations. I am competitive by nature and pride myself in finding ways to make good things happen on the field. I am the oldest of 3 siblings and have had to take care of my younger brother and sister a lot while my parents were working- This has definitely taught me to be independent and responsible. Thanks so much for taking an interest in me as a player and as a person.
