Being a three sport athlete is not easy. There is a grind both mentally and physically that you really have to enjoy in order to be successful. The lessons that I have learned from each sport are what make me what I am both on and off of the field. I have learned mental toughness and discipline from wrestling since I was five years old. The idea that no one is out there on the mat to help you overcome. It is just you. The discipline it takes to maintain your weight and conditioning not only just to participate, but to be successful when overtime comes and your opponent is physically and mentally drained. I have learned the importance of teamwork from football. I really enjoy the grind in the off season when the team is in the weight room pushing each other to get bigger, faster, and stronger. I love how we have to work together as a unit in a game, each person doing his job, in order to be successful. I have learned leadership traits from football that are invaluable. I have been the quarterback on my football teams since I was five years old. I know what it takes to lead a team and how to push the guys that I play with to be their best.
However, baseball is my passion. I take the mental toughness and discipline that I learned from wrestling, as well as the leadership skills that I have learned from football, and bring them to the baseball field. I have learned the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership throughout my career. I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. As a three-sport athlete, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team! .
