Personal Statement

Hi, My names Jordan I am a 6'3-6'4 195lbs Senior at Tri-Point highschool. I have been a varsity baseball and basketball player since freshman year. I bring a great work ethic, respect and a willing attitude to suceed to a team. I was nominated and received captain of my baseball team freshman and sophomore year and captain of the varsity basketball team my sophomore year. I strive to do my best everytime I step foot on the diamond or court, and never give less than 100% until I'm in the locker room. But my efforts do not stop there, I work to get better in the off season and on my own too. My dream since I was 4 years old has been to play college baseball and be selected in the MLB draft. I have felt my dream has always been attainable as long as I keep my attitude positive and I strive to achieve my best and help fellow teammates to reach their utmost potential. The great thing about baseball is it is a team sport and allows for numerous oppourtunities for unity and bounding in the dugout on the field and off the diamond. I have always made sure that I have a postive happy-go lucky attitude and befriend everyone on my team on and off the field. If their is inner conflict on a team the end result is never sweet, but when we work together and move as a well working machine then the end result of sucess and winnings are sweet. I look for a family atmosphere in my team. I am looking for a school anywhere in the country my particularities are not specific. But I look for a school that is going to challenge me academically and also challenge and help me improve for the next level athletically and in life in general. I come from a small high school but my aspirations have always been to attend a big university/institution, but again that particular is not a neccesity. I feel if I can make myself at home with the team and in the confines of the school, then as they always say, size doesn't matter!  I understand that coming in as a freshman most athletes do not make the "A" squad and start but if that isn't your goal then what are you shooting for? Shouldn't you want to shoot for the best you can do in everything in life? So my realistic goal is to work as hard as I can to earn my starting spot my freshman year and keep it until graduation, just as I am doing right now in highschool. But other than starting I want to make a positive impact for the team and help the team reach it's goal of winning every day we take the field. I hope this has proven to be a great insight on my character as a person and as a prospective athlete.  As I previously stated I will work and lead hard everyday and my ever close goal of becoming an MLB player will never leave my sights.  But I will not let it hinder my play on the field or consume my every thought, my first thoughts will always and forever be," God,  family, win, suceed-on and off the diamond."
