Personal Statement

My name is Danny Rollins and I love playing baseball.  I am a catcher, infielder, pitcher and willing to play wherever is best to help my team.  My top goal when I step onto the field is to help my team win that game.  I work hard on the field, in the weight room, and in the classroom.  Something other than hard work that helps me succeed is my ability to listen.  Listening to coaches and teachers all throughout my life has helped me get to where I am now and will continue to help me throughout the rest of my life.  I am willing to do what it takes to play ball at the next level and to be challenged in the classroom as well.

  • Danny Rollins (Lake Park) doesn't wow you with big tools but he was one of the better all-around, fundamentally sound catchers on the day. Rollins has feel for the barrel at the plate and is an above-average receiver who handled a number of different arms with ease throughout the day. https://www.prepbaseballreport.com/news/PBR/All-State-Games-Catcher-Analysis-0136295487?r=%2Fillinois%2Fnews-listings

  • PBR Illinois @danrollins14 emerged as a follow 2023 catcher at the #JolietID. ▪️ Consistently on the barrel in his round of BP. ▪️ T96 mph EV, Max distance of 355 feet. ▪️ Low pop of 2.01. https://twitter.com/hashtag/JolietID?src=hashtag_click+ One of the biggest breakout performances came from C/INF Danny Rollins (Lake Park, 2023). Rollins, who was making his PBR debut, has a well-rounded skillset but it was his right-handed bat that should be a big asset for him moving forward. Rollins has sneaky strength in his 5-foot-9, 165-pound build, he and gets a lot out of his right-handed swing. He has strong, quick hands, feel for the barrel and took controlled/aggressive swings throughout his round of BP. Rollins’ peak exit velocity registered at 95.7 mph with an average of 89.7 and a max distance measured at 355 feet. Rollins is also quick and clean out of the chute with an accurate arm and low pop time of 2.01.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
