Personal Statement
My goal going coming out of high school is to go to college and play baseball. Getting proper schooling is my first priority, so finding a school that has a medical program with a high reputation is important. Secondly, baseball has been a part of my life since I remember. Whether it has been playing baseball, working at the fields, or watching from the stands; I have always surrounded myself with the sport I enjoy most.
There are a few quality aspects I have that would make me a great fit for your team. First is my work ethic. During practice, I do my hardest to take in what the coach is showing and then reflect it when I am on the field. Even if it is something I am not excited to do, I will try my hardest and work to get better. The second is my ability to be a good teammate. On the field, I do my best to keep my teammates focused on baseball. I encourage everyone who messes up, and I applaud the ones who make a good play. The third is my competitiveness. I am able to balance my competitive nature and good attitude so that I am able to have a good time playing while still being an effective asset on the field.
I am different from other recruits in my athletic ability because of my ability to think on the field. I always think about every situation before the ball is hit in play. This is shown in my fielding and baserunning which helps with my lack of speed. I am also looking for ways to improve my game. I know that I am not to my full potential and I am willing to change what I have been taught in order to take that next step. Academics also set me apart from the other recruits. I challenge myself in the classroom every day. I also go to practice and work out while still being able to turn my homework in on time. I am a unique recruit, and for these reasons, I would be a great fit for your team.
