Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Curtis Cox,  what I will bring to your college is my full commitment, smart baseball mind, leadership skills whilst keeping calm under pressure. I am a pitcher , infielder with a strong batting ability which will be my main contributors to your teams success. Family is my key support, they have the passion for baseball which encourages me to fulfill my goals and dreams.  I have been fortunate to travel with an  Australian team to America three times whilst playing baseball in Dallas and South Carolina competing in the Tournaments, which has given me the passion to attend an American college playing baseball.

With my positive attitude, enthusiasm and strong determination to do my best in every thing I do, I give it 100 percent whether playing baseball , supporting, encouraging or being assistant coach for the U17 team at my winter club. I will continue to work on myself to help  achieve the best of my potential on and off the field.  Within the next 12 months I will strive to become stronger in all areas and work on my fitness so I can become the best of my ability.

My biggest achievements in baseball so far are  representing the State of Victoria in the Australian National Championships,  playing in 6  Grand finals and winning 5 , being awarded the MVP for the whole Winter GBA Baseball Association.

  • Curtis was promoted to our A Reserves Senior Team this 2016 Winter Season. Whilst shouldering the pitching duties in his U17 junior team, he played infield with the Senior team. He performed very well, and by the end of the Season, was a reliable and valuable team member. He showed great development, particularly his hitting, where he finished 4th in our averages. Even more pleasing however are Curtis’s traits. He is very coachable, always keen and enthusiastic to compete and to learn. He is punctual for games and a reliable and committed participant at practice sessions. He shows poise, confidence and responsibility that will take him as far as he is willing. Curtis has been a pleasure to coach this 2015 season. He would be asset to any College Program, and I have no hesitation in giving him my full recommendation. Yours sincerely, Richard Vagg A Reserves Senior Team Coach Member 1996 Australian Olympic Baseball Team
