Rodrigo Ortiz '23 Recruiting Profile

•       Hello, my name is Rodrigo Ortiz. I am currently going to be a Senior in the coming August. As of now I measure 5’9, weighing at 140 pounds. Furthermore, I attend Robinson School as a full Diploma Program student and hold a 4.3 GPA. As of June 7, I run a 7.0 60-yard dash and throw 77 miles per hour across the diamond from shortstop. I play year-round baseball with a travel team named the Llaneros since my school doesn’t have a baseball team In which I can participate.  

      For college baseball, I desire to attend a college where I can grow both educationally and athletically. I want to be challenged in both fields while growing up and surrounding myself with various racial, cultural, and religious groups. As a baseball player, I enjoy the mental part of the game, and I have reached the consensus that baseball is a demanding sport psychologically. I would bring energy, passion, and desire to a college roster. I will be the most hard-working athlete on the roster while also being humble and understanding that I’m not going to be the main attraction. Baseball is a team sport which means that, at times, sacrifices need to be made in order to obtain a team victory.
