Alex Smith '22 Recruiting Profile

What separates me from other athletes is that I have to desire to succeed on the field and in the classroom. I was in the top 9% of my class and was in the Duke TIP program. I was accepted into the National Honor Society as a junior. I earned a 3.89 GPA in my freshman and sophomore years of high school. I am looking for a school that can challenge me both athletically and academically. 

I played in four sports this past school year and earned a letter in three of them, but baseball is my passion. Ever since I was young I knew that I wanted to play baseball in college. I got the chance to start at second base in 2020 and hit 2nd in the lineup as a sophomore. I received three honors for my performance in the 2020 baseball season: Second Team All-State 2nd Baseman, First Team All-District 2nd baseman, and Second Team All-Conference Infielder.
