Jake Wellington '21 Recruiting Profile

My goals are to attend a college to play baseball and get my degree in Sports Education. What I bring to a team isn’t just my play, it’s my personality too. I love the game and I love to have fun, I bring a great attitude and I bring great attitudes out of others too. On the field I play with everything because I love it, competing is my favorite part and I get pumped especially on the mound! In the classroom and on the field I will give you all I have. I pitch a bit different than most guys, I like to keep batters guessing. What I mean by that is I pitch backwards, I have three pitches I can locate at any time for a strike. So I like to how off-speed pitches in fastball counts same goes for fastballs in off-speed counts. Last summer (2019) I started 9 games and threw 7 complete games, that is what I think my biggest strength might be in my ability to throw a complete game and stay strong the whole way through.
