2020 SpotlightPersonal Statement
The biggest influence in my life that has molded me into the person and athlete that I am today has been my parents. They have instilled in me a desire to be the best that I can be in life, school, and sports. They have drilled into me that to be the best, I have to work hard and learn to overcome failure. Baseball has taught me how to deal with failure, because baseball is a game of failure. In other words, you should never let your last at-bat define the rest of the game.
I have been fortunate to have had some awesome coaches along the way. Their guidance and mentoring have provided me the skill and confidence to get me to where I am today, and the understanding to know that I still have a long way to go. I feel that my strongest attribute is my positive attitude and friendly nature, which I use to lift my teammates up. My weakest attribute is that I am a perfectionist and tend to be too hard on myself.

- ActivitiesNeville Baseball Leadership Council – Neville baseball has established a Leadership Council made up of elected players selected by their teammates. The purpose of the council is to champion the team’s culture by instilling the principles and standards of behavior through collaboration with the coaches and communication with the teammates. The council members are the ambassadors for team’s culture and philosophy. Dixie Diehards - Dixie Diehards is a baseball league for people with disabilities. It is an extension of West Monroe Dixie Youth Baseball. The Dixie Diehards play on a special field built by the West Monroe Kiwanis to accommodate people with disabilities and is located at the Biendenharn Sports Complex. KidCam Camps - At Kidcam, campers are able to choose a portion of their own schedule from ever-changing programs, clinics and activities weekly such as sports, art, movement, enrichment, academics, cooking, STEM and water play.
