Gabriel McKee '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Gabriel McKee, and I am a Senior at Rosepine High School in Rosepine, LA.  I have been a starter the past 4 years on the varsity baseball team.  My freshman year I was part of the Louisiana Class 2A State Championship team.  Last year our team went to the state quarterfinals.  I made 1st team All-District as a 2nd baseman; however, I also played 3rd and was a catcher.  I am currently the starting varsity shortstop; however, my junior year I was the starting varsity catcher.  I have been a four year member of our Rosepine Eagles Varsity Football team in which I have earned a starting position this current year.

I plan on achieving a business and finance degree along with exploring law degree.  My goal is to compete at the collegiate level with aspirations of going to the pros at some level.  I am very goal oriented and driven.  While being a two-sport varsity athlete, I maintained a 4.0 GPA and was involved in several extracurricular activities such as President of RHS 4-H club, executive board member for two years of the Louisiana 4-H, three-year board member of Vernon Parish 4-H Teen Leaders, board member of Beta Club, vice president of FFA & of Interact Club and a three-year member of the RHS Student Council, FBLA parliamentarian, Beta Club, FCA, FFA, Interact Club, and RHS Fishing Team.  I was selected to be on the Student Leadership Coucil for the football team. My junior year in high school I received the honor of being selected for the Student Athlete Scholars Pi Upsilon Kappa Chapter and the National Honor Society of High School Scholars.  I am the president of the school chapter of Pi Upsilon Kappa Chapter.

I strive to be a good role model for all members of our student body along with being a leader on and off the field.    I believe in showing leadership through my actions such as organizing events with teammates, community service, and tutoring or mentoring other students.  For example, organizing hitting or fielding practices all year long even during off season or stay longer at football practice to work with others.
