My name is Connor Wilson. I am currently a Junior at Sulphur High School in Sulphur La. I am a left handed pitcher on my 5A baseball team. I have been used in starting roles as well as relief roles throughout my high school career. I incorporate several pitches in my repertoire including 2 seam fastballs, 4 seam fastballs, change ups, and slurves. Although I am not yet the type of pitcher that lights up the radar I feel my pitching efficiency in games is one of my best assets on the field. Currently my 6’0”, 145lb frame produces 77mph fastball, but this is increasingly changing. Over the past three summers, since I have become a high school player, my velocity has increased 4-5 mph every summer. I credit this to my extreme work ethic and my determination to be the best that I can be for the team or teams I play for. My goal is to play baseball, which I view to be the best game ever invented, for as long as I possibly can. I dedicate several hours a week to bettering myself on and off of the field to be the best student and teammate that I can be.
Off of the field I hold valuable assets as well. I am an A student that is involved in several leadership clubs including Student Council, National Honors Society, Beta, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The characteristic that I hold the nearest to my heart is my strong Christian Faith. I lean very hard on this because I believe Jesus Christ is the only reason I am who and where I am today.
My goals include graduating high school with honors and attending a college or university that will prepare me the best for my future career as a Physical Therapist. I love being an athlete and want to help other athletes prepare or repair their bodies to do what they love for as long as they can. With the Grace of God my dream is to pursue this career path all while playing college baseball.
In summary, I am and can remain to be a valuable student athlete for whichever college or university that can give me the best shot at reaching my goals and fulfilling my dreams. I will always dedicate my time and efforts to being the best I can be at the roles I serve through hard work and leadership, not only with my words but with my actions as well.
Prepared for baseball with Christ by Connor Wilson.
