Personal Statement
My name is Michael Angelo Rodriguez, I'm a senior at Joppatowne High School and a Outfielder and Left-handed Pitcher. I'm also a member of the National Art Honors Society and a photo-correspondent for WiRED, my school's video newspaper. I'm also part of the Criminal Justice branch of the Homeland Security Emergency Preparedness Program. I've been playing baseball since I was 5 year old, when I first got enrolled in rec and travel leagues. It wasnt long till I found out that I was more skilled in the Outfield and that my ability to track the ball allows me to make the plays I need to make in the outfield, no matter what position. Times when I had no homework or whenever I had time off on weekends, I'd go to the cages or gym to maintain physical strength and keep my skills sharp, as that is required for a baseball athlete to perform at his best. I have accomplished much with different teams, including carrying my ball club to winning two championships. But even with these achievements there is still room to improve my game. My dream is to commit to a Division 1 college team and apply my skills to contribute to wins on a team.
