James (Jimmy) Hanney '23 Recruiting Profile

Baseball is my passion! I love the game, the workouts and the camaraderie of the team.  I take advantage of every chance I get to work hard and sharpen my skills. I train and play on a club team year-round, I earned my High School Varsity Letter as a sophomore, and I was the number one starting pitcher on my Varsity Team as a Junior, with a record of 6-3. This year as a Senior I am a Varsity Team Captain and the number one starting pitcher, with a record of 4-1. When I'm not pitching I play 1st Base, 3rd Base or Left Field. Junior year I led my team to become the Tri-Valley League Champions (Small Division) and I received the honor of being named a First Team Tri-Valley League All Star. For the past three years I have participated in American Legion Ball during the summer. I played in my town's Babe Ruth League for four years. It gave me extra time on the field as well as the opportunity to be a "role model" to younger athletes. I'm an honors student enrolled in AP and Honors classes to make sure that I continue to challenge myself academically. I strive to do my best in all aspects of my life, and what I have to offer a college team is integrity, hard work, dedication and the mindset to do what it takes to excel.
