Personal Statement

My name is Brody Kleffner, and I am in love with the game of baseball. Whether I'm playing, practicing or learning, as long as I have a baseball in my hand, that is when I am the happiest. No matter the level I'm playing at, I will be the hardest working player on your team. All I need is one opportunity to show you.

My main positions are right-handed pitcher and outfield, but I am willing to try any position if it will help your program. I am very versatile and observant when it comes to taking instructions. I am the type of player who is first to arrive and the last to leave. I'm the player in the dugout that will always be cheering with my head up and my mind right.

I am currently a Junior at Fatima High School and I'm a 6'2", 205 lbs., 17-year-old who takes pride in my academic achievements just as much if not more than my athletic ones. My work ethic is the best around and I can promise I will give 110% of my time and effort in everything I do. I am open to ideas or critiques you would have to make me a better player. I am all ears.

Thank you for your time and for more videos/game footage of me playing visit my YouTube page https://youtube.com/@bwkleffner?feature=shared

I hope to hear from you soon.

Brody Kleffner

  • + RHP/OF Brody Kleffner (Fatima, 2025) has considerable upside on the mound to pair with a loose, lively 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame. Kleffner’s fastball played at 84-86 mph, touching 87 mph, from a fast, explosive arm that should only continue to add velocity as he gets older. He grabbed whiffs at the top of the zone, spinning at upwards of 2400 RPM with rise (17.6”) and run (19.4”) at peak. Kleffner showed real feel for a 76-78 mph changeup that played with late arm-side action, thrown at arm speed. Still developing his curveball (71-73 mph) and slider (74-77 mph), the latter showed upside with tight lateral spin from a similar arm angle to his fastball.

  • + Another highly projectable two-way follow from this event was OF/RHP Brody Kleffner (Fatima, 2025). Kleffner, who’s long arms and lanky 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame ooze upside, first popped to our staff at the St. Louis Open last fall. He built off that performance and improved greatly in this look, swinging an extremely loose and fast right-handed bat throughout BP. Kleffner averaged 76.1 mph of bat speed and 22.6 mph of hand speed, both of which grade out to the highest performance tier on our player profiles for someone his age. He worked the pull-side throughout BP, repeated his swing rather consistently, and should only add more thump as his frame continues to fill out. Kleffner’s fastball sat at 81-84 mph on the mound with natural run and sink from a live, loose arm action. His primary off-speed pitch in this look was a 72-74 mph changeup that also showed run and sink, working with similar extension and from the same arm angle as his fastball.

  • Really solid foundation in mechanics. Good job of syncing up long arms/legs and getting the delivery on time at footplant. Needs to stay a little more stacked over back foot into footplant and rotate through center of mass more. Really solid 3 pitch mix. Every pitch has good separation between each other, and most importantly off the fastball. FB is best pitch right now. It has above average carry and a decent amount of run. The curveball has good sweep and enough velocity difference to miss bats at times. Change up has really good bones as you kill ride on it and induce a good bit of armside run.

  • Scouting report given at event - Brody Kleffner is a 2025 3B/RHP/1B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Westphalia, MO who attends Fatima. Solid athletic build with good present strength and room for plenty more. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread start with a tight hand load, has an exaggerated short and inside swing, flashes strength when he gets separated and extended, projects well as a hitter with his frame and strength potential if he can make adjustments. 8.39 runner in the sixty. Plays corner infield on defense, arm strength is his best present tool, gets good carry on his throws with a clean arm action, young actions with his glove and lower half. Took a turn on the mound, has a long and loose arm action, gets out over his front side will with lots of extension, high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball sat in the low 70's, topped out at 73 mph with good run and sink. Curveball was a quality second pitch with good spin and nice arm speed at release. Has a chance on the mound as well as a position player. Excellent student.
