Academics is the base that will let me thrive in college. As the NSAA says, "student first, athlete second." This is what I base myself on when it comes to academics before athletics. Whether it is studying for a big test or doing simple homework problems, they will always be done before going to the field for training.
I plan on studying Entrepreneurship Business in order to become an entrepreneur in landscaping. To have the ability to play and live baseball surrounded by other athletes who wish to do the same would be a dream come true for me. I started by playing on a team in Vermillion, South Dakota. After a year of playing rec ball, I tried out for the travel team and made it. I was a constant starter on the team and created new friends at an early age of 10. I played with these boys all the way until I turned 16. We were state champions in 2020 and undefeated league champions in 2018. During my Sophomore year, I had to transfer teams due to the state line. I came down to Hartington, Nebraska not knowing if I would even play. After the first couple of games, I knew this was the best decision. I got to start all 60 games of the season and pitched the first game of the Class C Senior Legion State tournament. Throughout my journey with baseball, I have gained the ability to get to know new people fast.
The field and batting cage are my home for most of the year, spending countless hours on the field before and after games stretching/warming up and then helping with the groundskeeping. Spending countless hours over the winter indoors hitting hundreds of balls a day in the cage. I also weight lift three times a week and have a plyoball workout that consists of throwing 3 days a week.
