August Souza / Santa Clara U. commit '19 Recruiting Profile

          My name is August  Souza, I am a Junior and I play baseball for Reno High Varsity, Reno Knights American Legion and the Trosky Pro Scout Team.  I am very fortunate to play for two of the best baseball coaches in the country, Coach Savage and Coach Trosky.

Playing baseball in college has been a goal and dream of mine since I was young.   I have been dedicated to my goal for a long time.  I hope to play and continue my education at a top college.  I know I will be an asset to my college team.  I work hard,  I am a good team mate and I don't like to lose.  

As an example of my dedication to working hard:   When I was 15, I decided that I wanted to make the USA Baseball NTIS Southwest Regional Team.  This team has players from NV, AZ, NM and West TX.  Every one must tryout.  I got approval from my Reno High Coaches and I trained hard for the tryout.  In early May we drove from Reno to Las Vegas and attended the tryout.  A few weeks later I was selected to be a member of the team.  We played at the USA Baseball National Fields in Cary, NC.  It was one of the top highlighs of my young career and I have nothing but respect for my team mates and coaches.
