I have been playing and loving the game of baseball ever since I first picked up the game. I am fortunate to have loving parents who have supported me from the beginning. I learned my work ethic not only from my parents but also from my immigrant grandmother who came to America from Ecuador, with only a 3rd grade education she worked 6 days a week to raise my mother and send her to college. Today my mother is a Neurology Nurse Practitioner at Dartmouth. My immigrant great grandparents also came to America from Italy and Ireland. They worked in the automechanic industry & sales. Setting themselves up for success by working hard. My father recognized this hard work ethic. After graduating from The Catholic University of America he rose through the ranks to become the Battalion Chief of the Fire Department of New York City. I mention my family’s heritage and work ethic to illustrate that you can become anything you want with hard work. For me all the coaching, practices, trips to tournaments including Cooperstown have led me to this singular moment of college recruitment and learning at an academic center aligned with my life and career goals.
Throughout the years of playing baseball I have always led by example. I play the game like someone is watching and evaluating me each time I take the field. I have a very strong team first attitude, not just in baseball, but in life. Playing baseball at a high level has always been something that I have loved and strived for. I would love the opportunity to play at the collegiate level while pursuing a career in the sports industry.
