Personal Statement
From about the age of 10 or 11; my goal has always been to play baseball in college and God willing, in the MLB one day. Being a great teammate is most important to me. When I am on any team, my goal is to demonstrate to my coaches and teammates that I am there for them no matter what. Willing to do what is best for the team; working together for the common goal of winning. To work as hard as I can and to sacrifice what is necessary to achieve team success. If you get 25 guys coming together for one common goal of winning and team success; then the personal achievements will take care of itself.
My Dad has always told me that the most important characteristic as a young man is to have is integrity. And that my word is my bond. I try to live up to that every day. When I make a commitment I follow through without fail. Having respect for other people is important, but fearing no one is just as important.
I believe that I am a good baseball player with great potential. All I can commit to is to work as hard as I can to try and reach my full potential and to put myself in a position to be able to take advantage of any opportunity that comes my way. Also, no matter how much I work and sacrifice, I know I can work harder or longer to become better no matter what level of success I achieve in baseball.
I try to take the same attitude towards my grades. Grades are the key to my ultimate success in life and will certainly open doors for me that otherwise may be closed. Currently, I have a 4.0 grade point average and will continue to strive to achieve that every semester.
