Kevin Caputo '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kevin Caputo and I am 17 years old. I am 6 foot tall and 165 pounds. I am a junior at Cinnaminson High School in Cinnaminson, NJ and play travel baseball for the Bashing Bananas.  My primary position is Catcher. When I am not catching, I play centerfield or right field.
When I was 10 years old, I went to a baseball tournament at Sports at the Beach in Delaware. I saw in a gift shop a Baseballism hanging on the wall called The Chip. When I read it, I felt like I was reading about myself.
I started playing travel baseball when I was 7 years old and fell in love with the game. I am honest when I say I was not very good my first few years and felt one step behind the rest of my teammates. When I turned 10, I was so lucky to move onto a team that had the greatest coach I have ever had in all my years of baseball.
This coach taught me not only all the fundamentals of baseball that I needed to be a good player but the best lesson I learned from him was that great players have heart. They give 100% in every game, every practice and in everything they do to train. It is a lesson that I have carried with me and use in everything I do.
The Chip hangs on my wall and it is the reminder of the journey I have traveled to become the baseball player I am today. It helped me to develop the work ethic I have today that never lets me be afraid to fail, never give up and always has me give 100%. As I said before, I love the game and there is no measure for the amount of heart I put into it every time I step on the field.
