Personal Statement
At the age of 5, I started wrestling when my parents enrolled me at a local jiu jitsu school. I was too young to realize at the time what others saw in me which is my persistence and work ethic. From the time I was 7 years old to the present, I have been training in the sport of wrestling year round. This sport has taught me how to contend with the ups and downs of life and how to overcome adversity. I have applied the discipline which I have acquired through my wrestling training into academic endeavors. For example, since middle school, I’ve been taking the highest level courses that are offered at my school and have earned excellent grades in those classes. I envision myself being part of a Division I wrestling program with an outstanding academic tradition. I look forward to having the opportunity to achieve the highest level of success in the sport of which I have dedicated a large portion of my life in conjunction with laying the foundation for a career as a physician.
