Personal Statement
My name is Brody Ferrer and I am a 16-year-old Catcher and 3B. I love baseball! I have tried soccer, football, and basketball in past years, but baseball has remained my one true passion. I hope to participate in America’s pastime as far as opportunities allow me, so my college goals/aspirations are two-fold.
Athletically, I would like to attend a university with an athletic program that is ranked as one of the best. Although I have learned a lot from my high school and travel coaches, I dream of taking my baseball career to the next level with a program that will push me to reach my maximum performance.
Academically, I would like to attend a widely respected university offering a quality education that will open the doors to a fulfilling career. My parents have raised me to value my education. I would like to show them how well I learned that lesson by graduating with honors in the field of my future choice.
The university that accepts me will find a candidate who does not take the path of least resistance. Athletically, I work out multiple times per week and take additional lessons outside of the regular team practices so that I can continuously improve my craft. Academically, I have taken Honors and AP classes to mentally prepare for the advancement of my education at the college level.
In addition, I have a passion for helping wherever I am needed that will greatly benefit my future university. Aside from the regular chores and babysitting duties to help my parents and 2 siblings at home, I have volunteered at a local food bank and joined clubs like Project United and AM Fitness. I would be happy to participate in on-campus events that facilitate the operations or further enhance the school's reputation.
I'm looking forward to getting started!
