My name is Faith Michalski and I am a starting catcher and utility player at Edison High School. In the 12 years that I have been playing, I have learned every position on the field which allows for an easier time making situational calls behind the plate during a play. My role as a catcher, combined with my black belt instructor status at my dojo, lend to well-developed leadership and people skills. Both of which I find extremely important when working with different types of players and personalities.
From my college experience, I hope to learn a little bit more about working together and building team chemistry. My teaching ability, developed over years of training at karate, allows me to pick up on my own areas to improve in as well as others, not just in sports but also in my academics and everyday life. This awareness pushes me to be my best and helps me maintain my AP and honors classes.
Beyond sports, my overall goal is to take all of these skills and abilities, build on them, and then carry them into my career in law enforcement. I believe I can be a part of the solution and help to remedy the system. As an active member of youth police programs, I aim to one day help my community feel more at peace.
