My name is Alexander Stillwell and I attend the Peddie School class of 2022. I have been playing Baseball since I was five. honestly my goal for playing in college was not a driving factor for me when I was younger. I used to kick and scream on the way to baseball practice complaining every step of the way until I was about seven. Once I hit this age, two years of extra work and lessons started to show on the diamond. This is when my baseball journey really began. The small amount of extra work I put in allowed me to start rising above the competition level and I saw this as an opportunity for success. Since that day I have committed myself to this sport. Everyday since then I have sacrificed everything in order to see a dream through. I have always wanted to be a division 1 athlete and will continue to work until I at accomplish this goal.
When people ask me how much I workout I tell them “In my eyes I work out 24 hours a day because everything adds up between baseball, lifting, stretching and rest.” I try to lead by example on and off the field and I won’t do a job if it’s not going to be with 110% of my effort. In addition, I love pressure situations. It doesn’t matter if it’s no one on or bottom of the ninth, two outs, bases loaded, I love being in the batters box.
I am a catcher and First basemen. Two positions which have complemented my hitting immensely. Academics have also been important as I try to take the same hard work on the field to the classroom which has earned me a 3.6 GPA. I truly believe that with enough hard work anything is possible and I hope that one day this dream will come to fruition.
