I walked onto the field for the first time when I was eight. I did not know how to hold a bat or how to even swing. The guys on my team were playing since they were 4. I had a lot of catching up to do, but that never stopped me. It just pushed me to grind harder. There were many failures during that year, many tears shed over strike outs, quite a few pitches that either walked players or hit them, and far too many errors to count. This did not hinder me from pushing through it. With every failure, I came back with a stronger will to prove that I can do it. I spent hours on the field working out. I begged my mom for private lessons from coaches who played in the majors, and most importantly never let anything get me down. Moments on the bench were spent watching the game and learning new plays to help get better. My drive, dedication, and love for the game is what brought me here. Throughout the years, I pushed myself to the limit and never stopped. I am a strong believer that I am only better than I was yesterday and there is always room to advance and grow. I am currently 14 years old and a freshman at boarding school. High School baseball is different than any other baseball game I played thus far. Nothing is handed to you and you have to be hungry to earn it. Aside from practicing with my team daily, I practice on my own every day. I also attend trainings whenever I have a chance. I am hungry for this game and have a lot of heart. I don't expect anything to be handed to me. I show up every day with a desire to play and prove to myself and others that I belong here. I have speed, agility, dedication, focus, and passion. I ask my coaches daily for feedback and strive to implement it into my game going forward. I support my team no matter what. Whether I am playing on the field or sitting in the dugout, I am always there to cheer my team on. The key factors that I am most known for is my speed and flexibility to try different positions. Off the field, I am a student athlete with a 3.5 GPA. I also play the piano and viola. I am in my high school orchestra. I also volunteer in my community. I am a well-rounded student. In the future, I hope to continue playing baseball in college and pursue a career that can incorporate my love for sports and medicine.
