July 2019Winning the county championship this year was great because I witnessed what leadership and true teamwork is. I saw firsthand what it takes to win championships and the type of person it takes to bring a team together to get to those championships. After that season I have strived to be the teammate that makes the team better no matter what role I’m playing.
High school baseball has been a series of ups and downs: freshman year MVP and junior year county champs, and sophomore year minor injuries. It’s also routine: fall ball, workouts, spring ball, summer ball and so on (#NoOffSzn). But, through it all, certain things keep you going: commitment to my team, my academics, my family and friends. Finally, commitment to myself and my love and passion for the game.
I am looking for a program that wants to compete. As a musician, (I play guitar, bass, and drums) many people say the fastest way to get better is to make sure you're never the best one in the room. I’ve found this to translate over to a variety of things including baseball. I’m looking for a program that is going to push its players to be better no matter how good they are. I know my best playing is yet to come and I can’t wait for the next chapter.
