Like many kids my baseball days started with tee-ball, but my love for the game didn’t come until I hit my first homerun at the age of seven. From then on I knew that all I ever wanted to do was play ball. As supportive as they’ve been, neither of my parents played baseball or softball and did not know too much about the mechanics of the game, leaving me to learn and develop on my own. I think this helped instill in me the work ethic that I have today. Without a parent giving me tips along the way, it was important for me to push myself and make sure I never took the easy way out. I made it a point to get ahead, which is why at the age of 11 I did pushups and sit ups every single day. The discipline I taught myself at this early age has helped me in high school - academically, on the field, and in life. I am conscientious of my diet, cutting out all drinks with sugar and making sure I get all the nutrients I need. I think that this is why I am such a coachable player. I realized from a young age that without a parent teaching me, coaches were my greatest asset. This made me into the college ready player I am today.
I was lucky enough to play varsity my freshman year and contribute to the team. I was one of only two freshman to start the majority of the games, which allowed me to match up against players years older than me. I had to compete everyday to keep a starting spot and am not afraid of competition. I am looking for a school that's a good fit for me athletically as well as academically, and I believe I am ready to compete and contribute to your program right away. I have the talent and work ethic to play and thrive at the college level.
