I have just completed my Junior year at St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, NJ. I am pushing 6'3", weigh 210 pounds and now play both outfield and first base. This recent year my varsity coach needed a corner outfielder and asked if I would make the change from first base. I heard nothing but praise the entire year, earning All Division 2nd Team Honors. We compete in the toughest division in North New Jersey with teams full of Division 1 bound players at Don Bosco, Bergen Catholic, Depaul and Paramus Catholic. While I prefer Right Field if playing outfield, I actually played all three OF positions this year, usually a corner position with the decision being made based on whether LF or RF was more difficult to defend. I would then be moved to that position. I batted .400 this season with an onbase percentage of over .500. I had the most RBIs of any 2013 graduate in North NJ and was in the top 3 in doubles and triples. For Wladyka Baseball this summer, I expect to split my time between 1st base and OF.
My goal is to play college baseball at a school that is strong in academics but also has an improving baseball program. I am versatile in that I have no objections to playing any position except catcher. I have always prided myself on making an impact and improving every team I have played on, both in baseball and in soccer. I have accomplished this with my athletic ability but also with my attitude to help other players and encourage others to work as hard as I do. I would like to be part of a college baseball program that wants the same things, to improve and to work hard at accomplishing that goal. I am not limited to geographic locations but right now I am considering Anthropology, Archaeology or some form of social or other science as my major. As one of the top science and math students in my class, I want to continue that in college. I am leaning towards Division 1 but at a school that is strong academically. So far I have been looking in the PA, CT, MA, NJ, NY area but am not limited to that.
Play time is included in my list of goals. As I stated previously, I have always created a positive impact on whatever team I played on and would like to continue to do that. I have proven that I can adapt to any situation and move to any position that the coach needs me to and will work very hard to learn and be the best at that role or position. I do not get intimidated easily and feel that I have played at top levels of competition and some of the top venues without altering my play. My Mustangs club team nicknamed me Mr. Clutch and that is how I hope college coaches will see me
