My name is Joe Malatesta, and I am a sophomore at the Hun School in Princeton, NJ. My number one priority is to attend a high caliber school that is the best fit for me, while continuing to play baseball at a highly competitive level. Playing collegiate baseball would be a dream come true. Being part of a team at a competitive level has always been rewarding to me. Its important to me to be part of a team where teammates become family that care about one another and has a sense of brotherhood; win or lose. I work to always carry myself as a leader on and off the baseball field, giving nothing less than 100% at practice and on game days. Off the field, I am actively involved in the Special Olympics. Giving back to young athletes with challenges has always been important to me. They are enthusiastic and have a will to never give up even with their different challenges. This is humbling and keeps me coming back to volunteer and work with these special athletes every summer. I believe that these qualities help me to stand out.
Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement.
