August 2012Personal Statement
My name is Connor Moriarty and I currently attend Don Bosco Preparatory High School, Ramsey, NJ. I will graduate in June 2013. I am 6ft 1in; tall and 160 lbs. I am a RHP and played on both the varsity and the junior varsity teams during the 2012 season. I had a successful freshman campaign, going 5-1, getting the starts against all of our top rivals helping the team to a 19-3 record. During my sophomore JV season, I went 4-0 in a rain shortened season where team was 12-4. During my junior year, I finished 4-1 for JV, culminating with a win in the 2012 JV tournament that our team won; our team was 19-2; I also had one hold in a varsity game on 4/30/12 vs. Ridgewood HS. In the summer, I play for Wladyka Baseball. I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between the classroom and field. I would like to pursue a college/university with an outstanding academic reputation in the field of English and Film Studies. I would like to write and direct in the future. All levels of play are acceptable to me as long as the academic fit of the college meets my needs.
